THE ERIC GALES BAND - Picture Of A Thousand Faces [1993]

Eric Gales começou a se apresentar com 11 anos de idade e 4 anos depois lançou o primeiro cd, The Eric Gales Band [1991]. Ainda sob a tutela de seu irmão Eugene Gales, Eric lança em 1993 o segundo trabalho (e na minha opinião o melhor), assumindo os vocais ao lado de Eugene e contrabaixo em algumas faixas. Diferente de outros guitarristas prodígio-mirins surgidos nas últimas décadas - como Jonny Lang ou Kenny Wayne Shepherd (que a gente ouve e fala: "que legalziiinho, ele toca pra caramba e tem um songbook do Stevie Ray Vaughan", etc...) - a influência de caras como Hendrix, SRV, Robin Trower estão presentes no som encapetado da Fender Strato de Eric como referência, nunca soando apenas como cópia. Detalhe: o cara é canhoto e toca com as cordas na posição de destros, sem inversão! Dá pra encarar?
